Directions:​​​​​​​

Assign each dimension of the Wellness Wheel a number from 1 to 10 based on how well this area is going in your life, with 1 being the least successful and 10 being the most successful. Type your rated number in the fields next to each area.

Reflect:

1) Identify the dimensions of the wheel that you rated yourself as having the highest level of satisfaction.

  • Affirm to yourself the great work being done there

  • Identify 3 achievements that have helped you be successful in these areas

  • Identify challenges that you overcame and how did you grow from them?

2) What dimensions of the wheel would you like to see enhanced?

  • Select 1 or 2 dimensions that you would like to improve.

  • Within each dimension, identify what is the most important area to focus now?

  • What is one action item that you can begin to implement for the next week that will help you improve this area?

Refer back to this exercise, once a week or on a monthly basis to help direct your efforts towards your holistic health and wellness.

Learn about each dimension of the Wellness Wheel and look for the worksheet at the bottom of this page to help you reflect & create your own personal goal towards a more balanced self. 

Physical wellness focuses on maintaining a healthy body through regular physical activity to improve cardiovascular health, strength, and flexibility.

It also includes adopting healthy eating habits, getting enough sleep, managing stress, avoiding harmful substances, getting regular physical check-ups and practicing good hygiene.

Nutritional wellness refers to maintaining a balanced and nourishing diet that supports optimal health and well-being.

It involves making conscious choices about the foods and beverages we consume to meet our nutritional needs and promote overall wellness.

Nutritional wellness goes beyond simply focusing on calorie intake and weight management. It encompasses understanding the importance of nutrients, adopting healthy eating habits, and developing a positive relationship with food.

Emotional wellness involves recognizing, understanding, and effectively managing one's emotions in a healthy way.

It includes developing self-awareness, emotional intelligence, coping with stress effectively, cultivating positive relationships, practicing self-compassion, expressing emotions constructively, and seeking support when needed.

Emotional wellness helps you navigate life's challenges and maintain a positive mental and emotional state.

Intellectual wellness emphasizes engaging in lifelong learning. It involves engaging in activities that expand your knowledge, critical thinking, and creativity.

This can include stimulating mental activities like reading books, pursuing intellectual interests, pursuing education or hobbies, engaging in intellectually challenging conversations, and seeking out new experiences to enhance your intellectual growth and curiosity.

Social wellness focuses on building and nurturing healthy relationships, connections and a supportive social network. It involves effective communication, active listening, empathy, and maintaining healthy boundaries.

Social wellness also includes contributing positively to your community, fostering a sense of belonging, and seeking support from friends, family, or support networks when needed.

Spiritual wellness centers around finding meaning and purpose in life, exploring personal values, and connecting with something greater than yourself.

It can involve practices such as meditation, prayer, self-reflection, mindfulness, and exploring personal values and beliefs.

Spiritual wellness helps cultivate a sense of inner peace, gratitude, and a deeper understanding of oneself and the world.

Occupational wellness relates to finding fulfillment and satisfaction in your work or meaningful activities.

It involves pursuing a career or engaging in work aligned with your interests and values, maintaining work-life balance, setting goals, continuously developing your skills and cultivating a positive work environment.

Occupational wellness promotes a sense of purpose, achievement, and personal growth in your chosen field.

Environmental wellness focuses on understanding the impact of your surroundings on your well-being.

It involves promoting a clean and safe environment, living sustainably, connecting with nature, and being mindful of your ecological footprint.

Environmental wellness also encourages creating spaces that support the health and safety of both physical and emotional well-being.

Cultural wellness recognizes and celebrates diversity, embracing different cultural backgrounds, and fostering inclusivity.

It involves embracing and learning from different cultures, promoting cultural awareness and understanding, and actively engaging with diverse communities.

Cultural wellness encourages fostering connections, embracing diversity, and challenging biases or stereotypes.

Financial wellness pertains to effectively managing your financial resources and achieving financial stability and security.

It includes budgeting, saving, managing debt, planning for the future, and making informed financial decisions.

Financial wellness aims to reduce financial stress and promote a sense of control and security in your financial life.
