VEGAN CHORIZO SEASONING ON CHICKPEAS

Hola Familia!

We’re making a chorizo seasoning that you can go crazy with!

I love to add this seasoning to chickpeas! I add these chickpeas to salads or snack on them like popcorn.

Chorizo Seasoning Ingredients:

  • 1 Guajillo chili 🌶️

  • 1 Bay leaf 🍃

  • 2 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste

  • black pepper to taste

Grind the seasonings all together using a Mortar and Pestle aka Molcajete or blend it up in a small blender.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Note: You’ll be grinding the seasonings all together using a Mortar and Pestle aka Molcajete or blend it up in a small blender.

  • Break up the bay leaf into small pieces and add it to your mortar. Use the pestle and grind it up a bit.

  • Next add in the oregano and thyme and ground until finely ground.

  • Measure and combine all spices, along with the bay, oregano and thyme in a container and stir to combine.

  • Store in a jar or container with a tight-fitting lid and store in dry, dark place for up to 6 months or longer.

Chorizo Chickpea Instuctions:

In a skillet, heat up 1 or 2 tsp of olive oil, pour in 1 can of cooked and drained Chickpeas.

Heat up until the seasonings are well mixed and enjoy as a snack, on salads, or add to any dishes.

Vegan chorizo seasoning adds a delightful and robust flavor to chickpeas, elevating them to a whole new level. The smoky, spicy, and savory notes of the seasoning create a delicious plant-based alternative that satisfies your cravings for a meaty texture and taste. Whether you use them in salads, wraps, or as a protein-packed snack, vegan chorizo seasoned chickpeas are a versatile and mouthwatering addition to any vegan or vegetarian menu.
